Golden Milk

Golden Milk is a great anti-inflammatory beverage.  Turmeric gives the majority of health benefit in this essential winter drink, although the ginger and warming spices would beg to differ. It is anti-inflamatory, immune boosting and so much more!  You can make this recipe dairy-free if you prefer. Enjoy!

Golden Milk is a great anti-inflammatory beverage. Turmeric gives the majority of health benefit in this essential winter drink, although the ginger and warming spices would beg to differ. Ingredients

  • 1 1/2” fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon of dried turmeric

  • 1/2” fresh ginger or 1/2 teaspoon of dried ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

  • 1 cup of almond milk, coconut milk or full-fat canned coconut milk

  • 1 teaspoon of ghee or coconut oil

  • 1 teaspoon of manuka honey, local honey, maple syrup or stevia

  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and finely grate the fresh ginger and turmeric.

  2. Mix the ghee or coconut oil and fresh or dried ginger and turmeric in a small saucepan.

  3. Add the almond or coconut milk to the pan and turn the stove to low or medium heat.

  4. Stir frequently and cook until it starts to bubble. Remove from heat and add the honey.

  5. Enjoy!
